The Uptones work hard to prepare great music for you to listen to, but we also enjoy spending quiet time together. That's why we went to Backyard Axe Throwing League in Six Corners tonight to whip some axes around.

It was a hard-fought tournament, but ultimately George emerged victorious.

Thus satisfied that one of us can throw axes at a target more accurately than everyone else (except Scott, who runs this location of BATL), we repaired to Ysabel's restaurant down the street, where we sang karaoke, because singing was going to happen one way or another.

The Uptones had an incredible opportunity today — a small group of us got to visit Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and sing a set for the patients, parents, and caregivers eating lunch in their beautiful Crown Sky Garden.

We sang a variety of our most kid-friendly songs, including our Disney medley, and just generally had a great time making some people smile.

We thank Lurie Children's for the opportunity, and we look forward to going back soon!

This weekend, we were incredibly honored to perform some brand new music as part of a beautiful wedding ceremony in Bloomington, Indiana.

The twist is that the wedding was a member's. Taryn, one of our altos, married a very kind man named Mike on the university campus where they met.

The Uptones performed the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There" for the processional and Lionel Richie's "You Are" for the recessional, but perhaps the most memorable moment was accompanying Taryn's entrance with the Eva Cassidy version of "Over the Rainbow", arranged and soloed by Cami.

Everything was wonderful from start to finish, and we're so proud to have played even a small part in it. We wish Taryn and Mike a lifetime of happiness.
